Cape Henlopen Senior Center revives pancake breakfast

May 28, 2022

After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, the Cape Henlopen Senior Center resumed its popular pancake and sausage breakfast May 19.

Members and friends had been looking forward to this event’s return for a long time, and they were not disappointed. The food was delicious and plentiful, the fellowship and camaraderie were enjoyable, and everyone left with their bellies full and smiles on their faces.

Faithful fans and participants in this special fundraising event are Speaker of the House Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth Beach; Sen. Ernie Lopez, R-Lewes; Rehoboth Beach Mayor Stan Mills; and State Auditor Kathy McGuiness. The winner of the 50/50 raffle was member Waynne Paskins, who generously donated her winnings back to the center.

Special thanks go to the volunteers who cooked, served, cleared tables  and cleaned up, as well as those who signed folks in and sold raffle tickets.

The center plans to schedule another breakfast during the summer. To learn more, call Cape Henlopen Senior Center at 302-227-2055 or go to capehenlopenseniorcenter.org.
