Cape High JROTC emergency bus evacuation drill a success

April 24, 2022

The annual emergency bus evacuation drill was held at Cape Henlopen High School March 30, under the supervision of Cape High JROTC instructor Sgt. Richard Hurt and Assistant Principal Tim Slade.

The drill simulated an emergency on each bus that required all students to leave from the rear emergency exit. To ensure the safety of each student, Cape Army JROTC cadets were positioned at the rear of each bus to help each student with a safe and orderly exit.

Overall, the emergency exercise was a great success for all involved, from bus drivers and students to JROTC cadets and school faculty.
