May 4, 2026

Cape juniors Ally Diehl, Haley Gamuciello and Mairead Rishko are quick cats on the draw circle. All three are University of Delaware commits.

Hosting the Red Raiders of Ocean City, N.J., May 2, the Blue Hen-bound trio accounted for 11 goals as Cape outlasted a deliberative South Jersey team 13-8 to improve to 9-2 on the season with four games remaining.

“Ocean City is very purposeful on attack. We had to work on being patient defensively and holding our ground,” said Cape coach Lindsey Underwood. “Going into the end of the season, our focus is going to be on just playing fast, staying checked in and really looking at team defense and solid offensive possessions.”

Ocean City leads the Cape-Atlantic League. The Red Raiders are now 9-4 on the season.

Rishko and Gamuciello led the way with four goals each, while Diehl tallied three goals. Claire Lopez added a goal and three assists

“I play all over the place in the same game,” Rishko said. “Lately, I’ve been getting more runs on attack. But that's how it is with most of our players – we can play anywhere.”

Cape has beaten Ocean City five straight times starting in 2022 when the Ferry Boat Series was first established.
