Cape soccer falls to the Riders 8-0

The Cape girls’ soccer team fell to 0-2 with an 8-0 shutout by Caesar Rodney March 25 at the Riders’ Legacy Field.

The Riders took a 3-0 lead into the halftime break and tallied five more goals in the second half.

Cape took seven shots to the Riders’ 19. Julie Heffernan made seven saves, while CR keeper Gabrielle DiBartola stopped five Vikings scoring attempts.

Cape will host Woodbridge Tuesday, March 30.
