“The meet went really well,” said Cape junior Aya Daisey. “I believe the team showed up to perform and we delivered.”

“The meet was a lot of fun,” said junior Amaya Daisey. “There were some heated races against Central which helps motivate our team to push themselves harder. With the hard work our team has been putting in, it makes the swim season ahead look like something to look forward to.”

“We have all been working really hard to get ourselves in shape,” said sophomore Sophie Schoenfeld. “We have some upcoming practices over the break that should help keep us in shape along with any individual training that we do. The effort this year is really showing, and everyone has already improved immensely. I am just excited to see where the season takes the team.”

“Cape always has a strong team with a lot of depth,” said Central coach Jeff Kilner. “We were able to come away with some individual event and relay wins, which is an indicator of the hard work our guys and girls have put in so far this season. Freshman Breyden Wright broke a 17-year-old SCHS record in the 100 back in our first meet of the season, and he's hovering around the SC record in the 200 IM. At the Cape meet, senior co-captain Steph Wilson dropped 24 seconds from her personal best in the 500 freestyle, which is an indication of the work she's put in over the summer and fall.”

The Vikings are off until Tuesday, Jan. 7, when they host the Bucs of Milford.

The Knights will host Seaford Jan. 7 at the Howard T. Ennis pool.
