Cardiac nurse offers training in automated external defibrillator use

August 30, 2011

A new service is being offered in Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland to large and small businesses. It is important that employees know what to do in an emergency. Now, employees can be trained on-site in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid, and the use of automated external defibrillators.

Knowing that AEDs are available everywhere today, including restaurants, retail shops and many other public places, the president of F, H & L Enterprises, Faith Lynch, RN, understands most people are not trained to use the defibrillators properly. Lynch has more than 25 years' experience as a nurse specializing in the cardiac field. Her professional background includes certifications in CPR, AED and first aid.

What makes these services unique is that F, H & L Enterprises trains employees at their employer’s site, which avoids downtime.

CPR and first aid can be taught in two and half hours, with an additional hour for AED training. These programs are taught in half the time of other courses, but are intense and fast-moving. The courses are fully accredited, and each participant receives a card when the course is completed.

The program can be customized to meet employer’s needs and schedules. Rates are discounted by the number of attendees.
