Carol M. Short, former bank teller

Carol M. Short, 82, of Lewes passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2018, at her home. She was born Nov. 24, 1935, in Lewes, daughter of the late John and Elva (Coverdale) Maull.

Mrs. Short was a bank teller for Sussex Trust in Lewes for many years. She also worked as a secretary for Top of the Line Cleaning Service. Mrs. Short was the Clerk of Session at Cool Spring Presbyterian Church in Lewes for eight years, as well as being a volunteer for the Vascular Lab at Beebe Healthcare for 10 years. She enjoyed being active in the community, but above all, she cherised time spent with those she held dear. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Short was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James L. Short; her brothers: Robert Maull, John Maull, and Tommy Maull; and her sister, Judy Will. She is survived by her daughter, Shellace James and her husband Tom of Milton; her grandson, Charles Williams and his wife Shelby of Millsboro; her sisters: Sara Jane Doty and her husband Robert of Lewes, and Peggy Maull of Lewes; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Maull; and her nephew, John Tracey Maull II.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 29, at Cool Spring Presbyterian Church, 28843 Log Cabin Hill Road, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow the services at Bethel Cemetery, Lewes.
