VIA celebrates Joyce McCoy’s 50 years of service

The Village Improvement Association of Rehoboth Beach held its annual May luncheon at the Atlantic Sands Hotel.

President Marti Badila presented a summary of the club’s many accomplishments during the past year.

Joyce McCoy was recognized for her 50 years of membership. In 1975, McCoy joined VIA because of its mission to enhance the growth and environment of Rehoboth Beach and the surrounding community. She actively volunteered in a variety of events over the years including the St. Nicholas Tea. Her knowledge of the club’s history is extensive, and she is always willing to lend a hand. McCoy’s enduring dedication serves as an inspiration to longtime and new members alike.

This summer, VIA members will be helping at the Boardwalk information kiosk, cleaning up common areas, taking care of flowers with Rehoboth in Bloom and staying busy with other volunteer activities. Meetings will resume in September with a calendar full of planned events and activities.
