CHEF '80s Prom Party fundraiser set March 12

Benefits Cape District arts, development programs
March 1, 2016

Following the success of its inaugural prom party fundraiser in 2015, Cape Henlopen Educational Foundation has scheduled its second '80s Prom Party for Saturday, March 12, from 7 to 10 p.m., at The Starboard Restaurant in Dewey Beach. This year, the theme is Get Your Dance On, and the event features '80s Hair, '80s Jams, '80s Food and '80s Drink Prices.

CHEF Development Director Alyssa Titus said, “The response to last year’s Prom Party was so enthusiastic that we knew we had to come back with a new version. We’re giving a prize to the Best Dressed Prom Couple in hopes that guests will dig deep into their closets and really get into the spirit.”

Titus also explained that there will be a Night on the Town raffle with multiple winners of restaurant and other unique gift certificates. “We don’t want our raffle to be an all-or-nothing single drawing, but rather a chance for numerous guests to win and enjoy local gift and dining experiences,” she noted.

Proceeds from the '80s Prom Party will benefit Cape District arts and personal development programs, including Cape Chorale, Cape HS Theatre Academy, elementary and middle school arts activities, summer performing arts scholarships and the district’s Rachel’s Challenge inclusion/anti-bullying initiative.

General admission tickets are $35, $25 for school district employees, and are available at chef-cape.org and at the door.
