The Rookery
The Rookery offers several discounts at its pro shop at 27052 Broadkill Road, east of Route 1.
Golf shirts and golf bags are 25 percent off, with outerwear at 15 percent off the normal retail price. In-stock shoe discounts run from 25 percent to 50 percent. In addition, Director of Golf Butch Holtzclaw and Rookery head pro Kyle Deas are selling half-hour golf lessons for $40.

Hooper’s Landing
Hooper’s Landing offers public golf in western Sussex County at reasonable prices. Cape Henlopen High alum Mike Connor is the head golf pro.
Connor says all clothing is 25 percent to 40 percent off normal prices, and shoes are 25 percent off. New, sleek Blue Tees range finders are also on sale for $259 or less.
He is also selling lesson packages. You can buy five half-hour sessions for $180 or five hour-long lessons for $280.

American Classic Golf Club
American Classic near Midway continues the relaxed atmosphere the Morrison family created when they bought it several years ago.
Club manager Britt Morrison said from Dec. 20 through Dec. 23, each $50 gift certificate earns an additional $10 credit for the purchaser’s club account. Gift cards can be bought in any amount. She told me some folks buy sets of $25 cards. That way the recipient can bring a card to use for each round.
American Classic also linked up with the Milford Boys & Girls Club. From now until Dec. 20 at 9 a.m., funds donated at American Classic will go toward providing slipper socks and fleece blankets for the children. The deadline is necessary for organizing the distribution of the items in time for Christmas.
The club also has a nice selection of stocking stuffers such as balls and other small items, along with its well-known inventory of LoudMouth golf apparel.

Head golf pro Anthony Hollerbeck said the “exclusively public” golf course near Millsboro had a great 2021 golf season.
With new inventory coming at the start of the new year, Baywood’s pro shop is selling down its current stock. You can still find plenty of stuff along with gift certificates.

Stenger's Shamrock Farms Par 3
Bob and Wendy Stenger’s charming par 3 course at 22222 Saw Mill Road, west of Milton, is open year round. Greens fees are $15 and pull cart rentals are only a dollar on this easy-to-walk layout.

Club Champion
The COVID pandemic hit the national golf club fitting chain hard, forcing the temporary closure of some outlets last year. However, the company is making a nice comeback and has some special seasonal offerings.
Fittings booked and completed from Nov. 1 through Jan. 31 come with a 50 percent discount on the fitting fee, if $500 worth of equipment is purchased on the same day as the fitting. Putter fittings also come with a similar 50 percent fitting fee discount.
The company also offers what it calls VIP packages for drivers or putters, including a fitting session and custom-built clubs, if ordered at the fitting.
