Christopher F. “Chris” Keech, wrestling champ
Christopher F. “Chris” Keech, 28, of Georgetown, born Jan. 11, 1990, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision.
Chris had two loves in his life - his family and wrestling. From a very tender age, Chris was a wrestling "mat rat,” and was well known in Delaware's wrestling community. Chris enjoyed great success as a wrestler, winning more tournaments than one can count. He was an Eastern National and AAU National Champion, but the pinnacle of his wrestling career was winning the Delaware Interscholastic Athletic Association High School Wrestling State Championships in 2006 (103 pound weight class) and 2007 (112 pound weight class).
Chris cared very much for his family and friends. He would go out of his way to help anyone, anytime. He loved the simple things in life, like fishing, hunting and anything having to do with the outdoors.
Chris will be sorely missed by his parents, Brian W. Keech Sr. and Lisa A. Keech; his brother, Brian W. Keech Jr.; his dog Dolly; his many uncles, aunts and cousins, and all those who love him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at noon, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 East Market St., Georgetown, where a time of visitation for family, friends, and loved ones will be held from 11 a.m. to noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions in Chris’ memory made to Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 N. 3rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19123 or online at www.donors1.org.
