City of Lewes enters 2022 America in Bloom competition
The City of Lewes has once again entered the America in Bloom competition.
The last time the city entered was 2015, when it won the Champion Award for small towns. Only those cities that previously had won an America in Bloom overall award in their category three times could participate.
Lewes won America in Bloom honors in 2002, 2005, 2010 and 2015. In 2018, Lewes entered an international competition, Communities in Bloom, and was awarded the top prize in its International Challenge (Medium) category.
Lewes in Bloom, working closely with the city, retailers and other organizations, is spearheading the event. However, this is a community-wide effort. The two America in Bloom judges will visit the city Monday and Tuesday, July 11 and 12. As before, Lewes will be judged in several categories, including community vitality, flowers, landscaped areas, urban forestry, environmental efforts, celebrating heritage and overall impression.
More information about how everyone can participate will be forthcoming.
