Clarence Handy, retired food inspector
Clarence Handy, 65, went to sleep in death Friday, Oct. 10, 2014, at his home in Frankford. Clarence was cared for by his loving wife Lois for many years.
Clarence was born Oct. 14, 1948, in Lewes; he was the youngest of four children, the son of the late Lenford C. Handy Sr. and Elsie Mae Handy. Clarence was preceded in death by his brothers Lenford Handy Jr. and Rayfield Handy, and his sister Petric Goodman.
Clarence graduated from Bowie State college in Maryland. He worked as a drug and alcohol counselor for many years. Clarence worked for Townsends as a USDA food inspector for 18 years before he retired.
Clarence was baptized along with his wife Lois June 12, 1974; he attended the Dagsboro Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Clarence was a loving husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, uncle and friend.
Clarence enjoyed the field ministry, spending time with his family, reading, fishing, hunting, and working on cars with his brother Rayfield.
Clarence leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 43 years, Lois Ann Handy; four children, Telphia Handy Sr. of Salisbury, Md., Christopher Handy and his wife Erica of Millsboro, Tabatha Milewski and her husband Peter Milewski III of Delmar, Md., and Travis Handy and his wife Robyn of Laurel; and a dear nephew he helped raise, Felix Taylor, married to Tina Taylor, both of Parsonsburg, Md.; 13 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Kingdom Hall, 406 Swamp Road, Dagsboro.
