Clay Born Pottery show at Stepping Stone in Lewes Aug. 26

August 16, 2017

The Stepping Stone Gallery will continue celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special one-day show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26. The gallery will host ceramicist Nancy Rasch Salamon, whose Clay Born Pottery has been a favorite of locals and visitors. The show will include a painting demonstration by the artist. This is an opportunity to meet the artist, watch her creative process and find the perfect piece to add to any collection.

Clay Born Pottery is functional stoneware that is handmade and decorated by Salamon. During the show she will be decorating a selection of pieces. All of her pottery is oven-proof, dishwasher-safe and microwaveable. No two pieces are exactly alike in color, though size, shape and overall design are consistent.

Salamon's passion for her art is evident in every piece she creates, "I love knowing that my work will be a part of your everyday life. It is meant to be used and enjoyed. Please don't leave it in a china cabinet to wait for the right special occasion. The future is now," said Salamon.

In addition to her ceramics, the gallery will be showcasing Clay Born Textiles, a new evolution of Clay Born Pottery. Salomon has recently introduced her natural world collection of kitchen and dining textiles which features her colorful and painterly renditions of hummingbirds, fish, herons, dragonflies, tree with five birds, and crabs. Tea towels, chef's aprons, reversible table runners, napkins, and newly introduced throw pillows and note cards are included in the collection.

The Stepping Stone is located in historic Lewes at 107 W. Market St. For the last 25 years, the gallery has specialized in fine handcrafts and artwork created by American artists, and personal service to every customer. An array of pottery, glass, wood, metal, fiber art and jewelry is on display every day. Work from more than 130 artists is available.
