Coastal Camera Club announces winners of September competition
The Coastal Camera Club kicked off the new competition year Sept. 11 with an array of creative photographs. For the first time, the judges were able to use a more accurate, streamlined system to record scores, creating an efficient and smoothly run event.
Every month from September through May, there are 12 contests with four categories in each of three groups for beginner, intermediate and advanced photographers, producing three first-place winners in each category.
The first-place winners in the category Moving Water were Jack Morgan, “Go with the Flow”; James Hartsig, “Wet Hair Day”; and Anne Rhoads, “Colored Water in Motion.”
In the category Nature, top honors went to Dick Snyder, “Surf at Cape Henlopen State Park”; John Roecker, “Johnson Canyon Upper Falls”; and Ken Arnie, “Sol Duc Falls."
In the category Open Color first place went to Dick Snyder, “Lightning Over the Outer Banks”; David Ara, “Funland Faithful”; and Bob Pilkington, “Majestic Iris."
In the category Open Mono, first place went to Kimberly Scott, “First Majestic Live Oak”; Bill Sargent, “Serving at a Cadbury Ice Cream Social”; and Mike Vitiello, “Ceiling of Barnes Museum Foyer.”
The CCC regularly holds competition nights and programs with renowned guest speakers at 6 p.m. at the Cadbury at Lewes retirement community, 10728 Cadbury Circle, Lewes.
