Coastal Clubhouse builds on schedule, despite recent heat wave
Major clubhouse builds at two coastal Delaware resort communities are proceeding according to schedule, despite warmer-than-usual weather that’s seen heat indexes climb into the triple digits for several days.
The Whayland Co., with headquarters in Laurel and clients throughout the Delmarva Peninsula, reports that both the 9,000-square-foot clubhouse at the Coastal Club community in Lewes and the massive 37,000-square-foot clubhouse rising at the Peninsula on the Indian River Bay in Long Neck are on pace to open on schedule in the next few months.
“Weather in Sussex County can certainly be a challenge, and we’ve experienced some difficult conditions over the last couple of weeks. But we have a schedule to keep and we’re proceeding according to that plan, while still keeping the safety of our workers at the forefront at all times,” says Steve Hentschel, president of the Whayland Co. “Both clubhouses are coming along nicely, with some milestones coming up soon for both building projects.”
The clubhouse at the Peninsula is expected to be open this winter, while the one at the Coastal Club has an anticipated completion date of next spring. However, final permitting has been completed and the family pool at the Coastal Club is now open.
The Coastal Club clubhouse will add many amenities to the Lewes property, including a spacious pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, an arts and crafts center and Delaware’s only swim-up pool bar.
The larger clubhouse at the Peninsula will provide beautiful views of the water and the golf course. Included in the clubhouse will be fine dining and banquet facilities, a golf shop and full-service locker rooms, among other amenities.
“When these projects are complete, they will definitely enhance the lifestyles of thousands of residents in those communities,” says Hentschel. “As always, we value the trust our clients put in us when hiring us for any job, whether big or small, and we never take that trust for granted.”
