The scope of the Minos Conaway Road grade-separated interchange project is beginning to come into focus, as crews have cleared out most of the trees on the south side of Route 1 near the Nassau Bridge. The Delaware Department of Transportation is planning to build a new road that will take drivers under the bridge to access New Road or continue east to Janice Road toward Nassau Valley Vineyards.
The project area stretches from just south of Red Mill Pond to Five Points. In addition to the road under the Nassau Bridge, the project will also add three roundabouts and access roads on either side of Route 1 on both sides of the bridge.
Work is expected for the next three years. A target completion date is July to September 2028.
