Coastal Consulting Services opens
With 17 years of experience in the local area and 25 years of experience overall, Dan Schworn's name may be familiar to Cape Region homeowners. The certified microbial inspector previously worked for a larger firm. Recently he formed an independent business, Coastal Consulting Services LLC, to continue to provide high-quality environmental consulting services.
One area of focus for Schworn is working with Realtors to conduct pre-sale evaluations or correct concerns found during a home inspection. Correcting any crawlspace, mold or mildew concerns increases a home's value, especially if done before the home is listed on the market.
In addition to working with Realtors, Coastal Consulting Services also works directly with homeowners. The business specializes in crawlspace evaluations, moisture damage assessments, indoor air quality testing and environmental inspection services. Schworn inspects a home and provides a scope of work that outlines needed repairs for use in getting quotes for needed work. This method of obtaining quotes should result in each contractor providing a bid for the exact same job, which helps homeowners find the best value. He can also perform an additional inspection post-repair to confirm the contractor performed the proper services.
