To bring their own collections or just to see what others in central Delaware collect, everyone is welcome to the Air Mobility Command Museum from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, March 26, for the ninth annual Collector’s Day.
This free event is open to everyone. Attendees can bring their own collection of sports memorabilia or Beanie Babies or early American currency. This family-friendly event may leave attendees scratching their heads or it may remind them of some hidden treasures packed away in their attics.
Over the years, participants have shared collections of turn-of-the-century postcards, World War I uniforms, pocket watches, trench art, model aircraft engines and sunflower jewelry. To reserve free table space in advance, email museum@us.af.mil or stop by the AMC Museum. There will be prizes for best overall exhibit and most unusual collection.
Setup starts at 7:30 a.m. and doors open at 9 a.m. Teardown is at 3 p.m. No weapons or inappropriate material are allowed. For more information, call Paul George at 302-677-5991.
Take Exit 91 off Delaware Route 1 and follow the signs. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. Admission and parking are free, and photography is welcome.
