College Day 5K attracts 310 runners from 17 states

The 16 annual College Day 5K from Northbeach in Dewey Beach July 29 attracted 310 runners and more college logos than you could find in the inventory at Marshall’s discount store.

Brian Harvey, 31, was the overall winner in 15:50. Stefani Harvey, 33, his wife, was the second female in 20:01, as Jenna Farmer broke up that love story with a 19:09.

Joey Cintavey, 17, part of the Tatnall School distance machine, ran 16:49 for second overall. Patrick Hager, 32, a former Messiah College runner, was third in 16:59, followed by masters winner Zach Chupa in 17:25 and Francisco Puac in 17:37.

Sarah Mandes won the women’s masters race and was third overall on the women’s leaderboard in 20:54. Nikki Pisha, 32, was fourth in 21:52 and Kelly May, 15, was fifth in 22:21.

A total of 17 states were represented among the registered runners, with Penn State the unofficial winner in number of T-shirts rocked.

The next Races2Run local race is the 10th annual Harry K Foundation 5K at 8:15 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 5.
