Commiserating with Purple Parrot owner

April 3, 2020

I can sympathize with Hugh Fuller, president of Purple Parrot Grille in Rehoboth regarding thefact that Highmark Insurance canceled your medical insurance policy for no good reason. I received my cancellation notice of Part D drug coverage from Humana Insurance because I wrote a letter to the Health and Human Services agency in Washington, D.C.

While my medication has not changed in five years, Humana increased my monthly premium twice in January. They then sent to me two eight page letters full of gobbledygook, pompous and wordy language that not even Einstein could understand.

For five years I was in tier one. Later they said I was in tier two. Then they said I was in part D payment plan. They later said I was in stage 1 payment plan. Lastly they retreated and said “I was in tier one, but here is your Denial of Medicare Part D Drug Coverage!’’

So let COVlD-19 fill the hospitals beyond capacity and watch Congress dither until the stock market, the money market, the bond market destroy the middle-class retirement. Then sick people will storm the drugstores, pitchfork in hand, because a lot of us 80-year-olds ain’t gonna bail out the Federal Reserve, the Treasury Department, the Social Security Administration and Rehoboth will wither and die.

Where did I leave my Zantac?
