Ocean View CHEER holiday bazaar set Dec. 1
The CHEER Coastal Leisure Center in Ocean View will host a holiday bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 1, featuring arts and crafts, jewelry, textiles, a 50/50 raffle, bake sale and white elephant table. Lunch will be available. The public is invited to shop and find their perfect holiday gifts. There is no admission fee.
Vendor tables are $20 for nonmembers and $10 for CHEER members, staff and volunteers. To reserve space, call Yolanda at 302-539-2671.
Delaware Hospice to host festival of trees Dec. 1-3
Delaware Hospice announced the 2023 Kent and Sussex county festival of trees will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2, and 12 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, at Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford. Hosted by Delaware Hospice to support its programs, the festival of trees features a magnificent display of beautifully decorated trees and wreaths – all sponsored and decorated by local businesses and individuals. A variety of events and activities help make the weekend truly special. This year’s festival will include a marketplace, bake shop, musical entertainment, and specialty trees for remembrance, memorial and new hope. For more information, go to delawarehospice.org.
Buy Delta Sigma Theta handbag auction tickets by Dec. 2
The Sussex County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will hold the annual Regina Jones-Brake Handbag Auction and Denim and Pearls Brunch at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 9, at Kings Creek Country Club, 1 Kings Creek Circle, Rehoboth Beach. Individual donors and businesses donated high-end handbags for the auction. Tickets are $55 and must be purchased by Saturday, Dec. 2. Holiday photos with Santa to benefit CBH Dec. 2
Photographer Jenn White of Ginny Art Studios will be on hand along with Santa and Mrs. Claus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, at Children’s Beach House, 1800 Bay Ave., Lewes.
She will offer a magical Santa Experience to children and families. Each 15-minute session will include time with Santa and Mrs. Claus, the photo session, a single-image metal holiday ornament, and matching social media photo. The image will be chosen immediately following the session time. Additional images and products will be available for purchase following the session, as well.
The $100 session fee will be donated to Children’s Beach House.
To reserve a 15-minute session, go to ginnyartstudios.com/cbh. After booking, White will reach out personally to each registrant to discuss the session. She’ll then follow up via email with clothing ideas and to share her product guide.
Those who are unable to make the Dec. 2 sessions and would like to support CBH may arrange a session at White’s Milford studio at a later date, and she will donate the session fee.
Lighthouse Church Christmas craft show set Dec. 2
Lighthouse Church will host its second annual Christmas craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2, at 21265 John Williams Hwy., Lewes. Holiday shoppers will find new and unique decorations to add a festive touch to the home. Available items include jewelry, ornaments, mugs and other gift ideas. A few vendor tables remain. Multiple myeloma support group to meet Dec. 2
The Delaware Multiple Myeloma Support Group meets from 1 to 3 p.m. every third Saturday of the month via Zoom, with some changes during holiday months.

Second Street Players adds Dec. 2 matinee for Christmas musical
With six scheduled shows of “A Christmas Carol: The Musical” selling briskly, Second Street Players has added a matinee performance at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 2. Tickets for the extra performance are on sale now at secondstreetplayers.com.
Performances will take place at the Riverfront Theater, 2 S. Walnut St., Milford. Cost is $25 for adults, and $24 for seniors, students and SSP members.
Advent Lessons and Carols service set Dec. 3
The choir of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will present a candlelight service of Advent Lessons and Carols at 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, at 200 Second St, Lewes. The public is invited to attend. Advent, a season of the liturgical year observed in most Christian denominations, is a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the nativity of Christ at Christmas. The Unitarian Universalist of Southern Delaware will hold an in-person and livestreamed service at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 3, with the topic We Are One. The Rev. Heather Rion Starr said, “How do any of us stay unified on anything when there is so much on which we disagree? Santa’s Lewes House visiting hours posted
Santa’s Lewes House will be at the corner of Second and Bank streets in Lewes during the following hours this holiday season: 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7; 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9; 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16; 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21; and 1 to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 23.
The operation of the Santa House is made possible through the efforts of the City of Lewes, Lewes Board of Public Works and Lewes Chamber of Commerce.
Delaware Day on Maui celebration set Dec. 7
The Annual Delaware Day Celebration on Maui will start at 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, at Nalu’s South Shore Grill, located in Azeka Makai, 1280 South Kihei Road, Kihei, Maui. First Staters who were born, raised, worked, played, lived or went to school in Delaware and are visiting Maui are invited to attend. Guests are asked to wear an article of clothing from Delaware.
