Community document shredding event set June 5 in Milford
Lifestyle Document Management Inc. will hold a free community shred event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, June 5, at the Milford Branch of Sussex County Federal Credit Union, 140 Aerenson Drive, Milford (next to Wawa). Participants may bring up to 10 file boxes to secure for shredding. A live radio remote with Cool 101.3 FM starts at 12 p.m. with refreshments and giveaways while supplies last.
Shredding documents with personal information such as tax returns, bank statements, pay stubs and cancelled checks can minimize the risk of identity theft. A stolen identity allows criminals to anonymously abuse personal information, leaving finances and credit ratings destroyed. To reduce the threat of becoming a victim, SCFCU will be holding shred events at each of its four branch locations throughout the summer. Over the last three years, Sussex County FCU community shred events collected more than 40,000 pounds of confidential and proprietary documents for shredding, creating a secure peace of mind while also supporting recycling efforts to assist in preserving the future.
For more than 56 years, Sussex County Federal Credit Union has existed as a member-owned and -operated financial institution serving those who live, work, worship, attend school and/or volunteer in Sussex County or the City of Milford. For more information, go to www.sussexcfcu.com.
