Community foundation supports Women’s Club of Milton garden

May 26, 2019

The Milton Community Foundation received a request of support from the Women’s Club of Milton for the creation of a pollinator garden, to be located on the Milton historical property at 214 Union St.

As this request directly supports the mission of the foundation, which is to support and facilitate projects and programs that serve the Milton community, the foundation gave a donation of $500 to help with the purchase of plants and other supplies.

The garden will include perennials to attract pollinators including bees, birds and butterflies. The garden will cover the front of the yard and part of the side yard, and will also feature a bench, birdbath and birdhouse. It will be another point of interest in the Town of Milton.

The work to create the garden is being done by members of the foundation, the women’s club, the Milton Garden Club, Dogfish Head employees, town officials and staff, and residents of Milton. Lavender Fields also provided support with a donation. This cooperative effort demonstrates the spirit of the town as Milton continues to be a wonderful place both to visit and live in.
