One flown to Christiana following crash near Milton

A serious crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Route 1 and Hudson Road near Milton forced the closure of the southbound lanes of Route 1 and limited northbound traffic to one lane. The incident occurred about 9:45 a.m., July 8. The incident has been cleared.
Lewes Fire Department and Milton Fire Department responded to the scene, where crews utilized new equipment to wince vehicles apart. Once the vehicles were separated, extraction of occupants could begin. One patient was stabilized and transferred to Delaware State Police helicopter to be flown to Christiana Hospital for further treatment.
