Long lines formed early Nov. 9, as doors opened for the ninth annual 55+ Expo at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes.
Attendance was strong, with organizers estimating more than 1,500 visitors during the single-day event. The free 55+ Expo featured a diverse range of vendors, giveaways, demonstrations and information tailored to active adults and retirees in the Delaware resort region. Delaware Resorts Expos also made a donation to Meals On Wheels Lewes-Rehoboth at the event.
Kathy Benson, co-founder and director of Delaware Resorts Expos, said the turnout reflected the community’s enthusiasm and strong regional interest.
“Our print, radio, TV and online advertising builds to a crescendo in the weeks and days prior to the free expo, and appeals to residents throughout the region,” said Benson. “Upon arrival, visitors were welcomed by more than 80 exhibitors presenting everything from healthcare and free screenings by Beebe Healthcare, travel opportunities to home improvement and lifestyle services. We were also blessed with outstanding weather all day long.”
The next Delaware Resorts Expos event will be the Health, Fitness & Leisure Expo Saturday, March 7, at Cape High.
