May 22, 2023

The Cancer Support Community Delaware’s 8th Annual Crush Out Cancer Weekend will be observed Saturday and Sunday, June 3 and 4.

To honor National Cancer Survivors Day, CSCDE is partnering with several coastal-area restaurants to celebrate cancer survivors and raise funds for its critical programming in Sussex County.

Nicole Topkis Pickles, CSCDE executive director, said, “It’s not too late to sign your restaurant or brewery up to help us Crush Out Cancer. Simply contact us, and we will send you a form to complete to let us know what you are offering your customers and return it to us with your logo. We’ll send patrons to you via our website, which got nearly 80,000 hits in 2022; our social media, which had over 100,000 impressions; and our growing email list that reaches over 6,000 people with our weekly newsletter and email blasts. Together we can ensure that no Delawarean ever faces cancer alone. Thank you for helping us Crush Out Cancer.”

Confirmed restaurants so far include Bethany Brewing Co., Dockside Marina, Crust and Craft, Bluecoast, Matt’s Fish Camp Lewes, The Starboard, Mangos, Bethany Blues in Lewes and Bethany Beach, Hooked Up, Big Chill Surf Cantina, Off the Hook, Big Chill Beach Club and Bellefonte Brewing Company. More restaurants are being added daily.

Cancer Support Community Delaware is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to easing the cancer journey for patients, survivors, caregivers and their families. Through participation in professionally led support groups, educational workshops and mind/body stress-reduction classes, people affected by cancer learn vital skills that enable them to regain control and cope with the emotional and life-changing aspects of cancer. All center programs are provided at no cost to the cancer patient, caregivers and families.
