Cynthia M. Clendaniel, Cape District retiree
Cynthia M. “Cyndi” Clendaniel passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2026, at Bayhealth Medical Center, with all of her family by her side.
Cyndi was born May 30, 1952, to George and Esther Roush of Milton.
She worked for Arrow Safety Device for 17 years before going on to work for the Cape Henlopen School District, where she retired after 32-plus years of dedicated service.
Cyndi loved her community and enjoyed helping others. She was a proud member of Milton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary since 1993 and enjoyed volunteering at their many dinners and chicken salad sales.
She also loved playing bingo with her dear friends Kris and “Bingo Bob,” and playing cards with her sister, Darlene and Adrienne.
What Cyndi loved most was spending time with her family and watching her grandsons whenever she was needed. She was the best Mom-Mom, a wonderful and loving mother to her boys, and an immensely proud grandmother.
Cyndi was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother-in-law, Bill Gray.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Jr. (Robin) and Chad (Donna), and their father, Charles Sr.; sisters, Darlene Zacharias (John) of Onancock, Va., and Debbie Gray of Lebanon, Mo.; grandsons, Tyler (Rachel), Sean, Chris and Colton; great-grandsons, Cash, Hudson and Ryder; nephew, John Zacharias of Lewes; niece, Karen West of Milford; and a large host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Milton Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary or local food pantry.
At her request, services will be private.
