Darlene E. Barbarulo, loved seaside living
Darlene E. Barbarulo, 81, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 11, 2020, surrounded by her children at Brandywine Living, Rehoboth Beach.
She was born Sept. 4, 1939, in Huntingdon County, Pa., the daughter of the late Frank and Hazel (Ciampa) Battistella.
Mrs. Barbarulo raised her family with her beloved husband, Guy, in Altoona, Pa., and enjoyed careers working in medical/dental offices in Altoona and Hanover, Pa., as well as working in retail in Rehoboth Beach. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed the years she lived and worked in Rehoboth Beach. Mrs. Barbarulo loved living near the seashore and the great quality of life it provided her until her illness. Prior to her illness, she was a member of St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach. She was a loving and devoted mother, sister, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barbarulo was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Guy J. Barbarulo Sr. in 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Jody A. Barbarulo, of Lewes; her sons: John D. Barbarulo of Milton, and Guy J. Barbarulo Jr. of Provincetown, Mass.; her sister, Vonna L. Berkey (James); her brother, David L. Battistella (Sue); and their families.
A private burial service will be held at St. Catherine’s Cemetery in Shirleysburg, Pa., at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
