Darlene Kay Rust scholarships awarded to Cape graduates
Darlene Kay Rust scholarships were recently presented to two deserving Cape Henlopen High School graduates who intend to pursue college degrees in the study of nursing.
Marlee Geppert received a $1,000 Darlene Kay Rust Nursing Scholarship. She will attend Queen’s University of Charlotte.
Lucy Siranides received a $500 scholarship. She will attend University of Delaware and Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing at Beebe Healthcare.
Both recipients are outstanding students, are involved in numerous community and volunteer activities, and participated in sports at high levels.
Darlene Kay Rust grew up in Milton and graduated from Cape Henlopen High School in 1978. She graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Delaware and worked at the Christiana Care Center. Darlene passed away suddenly March 11, 2016. This scholarship honors Darlene’s lifelong love of nursing and provides support to those who want to pursue nursing education and careers.
