David Lyons memorial dedicated in Henlopen Acres

Friends, family and local elected officials gathered Oct. 9 at the marina in Henlopen Acres to dedicate a new memorial park created in honor of former Mayor David Lyons.
Lyons died in April 2018. He had been on the Henlopen Acres Board of Commissioners since 2007, serving the last three years as mayor.
Commissioners unanimously approved building the sitting park and memorial in September 2019 at the town marina in recognition of Lyons’ contributions to the town.
The large stone with engraved plate reads, “For his service as mayor and commissioner whose love of the Acres inspired us all.”
