Deadline for submissions to short films fest is June 29
The entry deadline for the Third Annual Best in Summer Shorts Film Festival is approaching quickly; all entries must be mailed or delivered to the Milton Theatre by 5 p.m., Monday, June 29. Entries must be on a DVD.
A screening committee will select the best of the entries, and those films will be shown on the big screen. A panel of three judges experienced in the field will vote, along with the audience, to determine the winners in each age category.
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and the Rehoboth Beach Film Society will sponsor two of the age category prizes for this year’s festival. The film society will sponsor the 10-14-year-old age group, and Dogfish Head Craft Brewery will sponsor the 25 and up age group.
This year’s festival is also made possible by generous donations from Bob Blayney and RE/MAX Coast & Country, Milton and Barbara Barski-Carrow, Foot Light Productions, Devon Design & Drafting, East Coast Property Management, Salon Milton, David Dutton, Zando Designs Landscape & Construction and Irish Eyes Restaurant.
Cash prizes will be awarded for best overall film ($100), best technical film ($75) and audience favorite ($50). Prizes are awarded in each of the four age categories: 10-14, 15-18, 19-24, and 25 and up.
Tickets for the event are $12 for adults and $10 for students 18 and below and seniors 65 and above. For more in-depth rules and details, or to purchase tickets, visit www.miltontheatre.org or by call 302-684-3400, or toll free at 1-800-838-3006. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.
