Dean Sherman named Community Bank Director of the Month

Community Bank Delaware announced Dean Sherman as Director of the Month.

Sherman is the owner of George Sherman Corp. and Sherman Heating Oils Inc. The family-owned business founded in 1960, employs 85 and provides HVAC, plumbing, heating oil, propane sanitation, as well as environmental services to customers throughout Sussex County and Maryland.

Born in Milton, Sherman is a lifelong resident of Sussex County.  Sherman joined Community Bank Delaware’s Board of Directors in 2016 and currently serves on the ALCO Committee. “Serving on the board for Community Bank Delaware is an especially important role to me, as our mission is to share resources with those in need in our community,” said Sherman.

Sherman has been an active supporter of dozens of local nonprofit and charitable organizations over the years. He has also served on the Town of Milton Planning and Zoning Commission and the State of Delaware Plumbing and Heating Board.

As Community Bank Delaware’s Director of the Month, Sherman is awarded $500 for his charity of choice, The Jefferson School.
