Del-Mar-Va Council names new scouting executive
The Scouting America Del-Mar-Va Council in Dover recently announced J. Ray Teat was selected as scout executive effective May 1, moving up from his position as director of finance and development.
In 1981, Teat began his scouting career in the Del-Mar-Va Council as an assistant ranger at Rodney Scout Reservation. His continuing service includes roles as resident director at Henson Scout Reservation, council property manager and director of support services.
An Eagle Scout and a vigil honor member of the Order of the Arrow, Teat enjoys cooking, canoeing, reading and travel.
He and his wife Regina have two children. Their daughter Kara resides in Rehoboth Beach. Also an Eagle Scout, their son Ryan is camping director at Scouting America, Chester County Council in Pennsylvania.
