Delaware 4-H Hall of Fame induction set Oct. 6 in Dover

The Delaware 4-H Hall of Fame will induct its fourth class of laureates in a ceremony starting at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover. The $50 ticket price includes dinner, entertainment, and a visual history of Delaware 4-H. Sponsored by the Delaware 4-H Foundation to recognize people who have had a constructive influence on Delaware 4-H, the event will pay tribute to 20 individuals. The 2018 Delaware 4-H Hall of Fame honors will be awarded to: Mary Grampp Brown, Richard Brown, Charmayne Busker, William Campbell, Howard Clendaniel, Nancy Clendaniel, Karen Crouse, Alice Mae Dempsey, Clara Feucht, Barbara Gooden, George Haenlein, Dorothy Hopkins, William Hopkins, Mark Manno, Betty Palmer, Cliff Palmer, Deloris Reynolds, Rodney Reynolds, Dana Sharpe and Jean Wilson. The legacy these honorees created, and in some cases continue to build, is what makes Delaware 4-H a premier positive youth development program. 

Delaware 4-H empowers youth to reach their full potential, working and learning in partnership with caring adults through hands-on and research-based experiences. Last year in Delaware, more than 800 volunteers helped over 36,000 young people ages 5 to 19 through outreach activities and in over 100 4-H clubs to gain knowledge, learn new life skills, participate in leadership experiences, and give back to their communities.
