Delaware Hospice receives donation
This generous gift will be directed to the capital campaign for the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, and, specifically, to the purchase of a memorial bench and landscaping of the center’s gardens.
Susan Carmean presented the check and thanked Delaware Hospice for the care it provided. She said, “We could have done a number of things with the donations, but wanted to give back to Delaware Hospice in recognition of the wonderful care my father received.”
Dr. Bob Carmean was a dentist in Laurel. Susan added, “My father was an outdoorsman and my mother was a gardener, so we feel that this is an appropriate way to honor them.”
The Delaware Hospice Center has become a home away from home for patients who benefit from a higher level of specialized hospice care. At the center, care is provided 24 hours a day, giving caregivers needed support and quality time with their loved ones. Privacy, comfort and comprehensive services are given in each of the 16 suites, with family, kitchen and dining areas as well as a children’s playroom. The center also houses a community conference room, a family support center, and resource library, as well as home care and administrative offices.
