Delaware Humane to offer vaccination clinic July 14
Delaware Humane Association, a statewide animal welfare organization with adoption centers in Rehoboth Beach and Wilmington, will host a low-cost vaccination clinic open to the public at its Rehoboth Beach Adoption Center from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, July 14.
The clinic will offer pet health services such as low-cost vaccinations, microchipping and more. This will be the first Sussex County vaccination clinic DHA has hosted since reopening its doors in April, after the adoption center’s state-of-the art renovation.
Sussex County pet owners can receive the following services and products for their cats and dogs at DHA’s clinic:
- Rabies and distemper vaccinations – $20 each
- Bordetella vaccinations (dogs only) – $15 each
- Microchips (permanent identification for pet/owner reunion) – $25 each
- General dewormer (2 doses; 2nd will be sent home for owners to administer at a later date) – $5
- State dog licenses – Cost varies; payment is accepted separately; visit delawarehumane.org/dog-licensing for details.
DHA asks for one customer per patient. When arriving at DHA, folks will be asked to remain in their car until a staff member comes outside to greet them. If the pet owner or someone in the household is sick, it is requested that they come back to a later clinic or have someone bring the pet for them. Clinic services are first-come, first-served. Cash is preferred; however, DHA also accepts checks. No other forms of payment are accepted at this time.
Cats must be in hard plastic or cardboard carriers, and dogs must be wearing a collar and non-retractable leash. A pet’s most recent previous rabies certificate with veterinarian’s signature or stamp must be presented to receive a 3-year rabies vaccination. Those with questions can call DHA’s Rehoboth Beach Adoption Center at 302-200-7159.
DHA embodies the motto “making friends for life” by connecting animals in need with loving members of the Sussex County and larger Delaware communities.
