The third annual Delaware Senior Olympics Bocce Tournament was played Sept. 22 at Mulligan’s Pointe in Georgetown.
Ten teams comprising players from 50 to 80 years old competed in the event. Some players have played together at the Lewes courts for five years, while other tournament players were relatively new to the game.
The tournament was all about friendly, spirited competition. Cheering and encouragement could be heard for partners and opponents alike.
Gold, silver, and bronze medals were awarded to overall tournament winners and to winners by age bracket.
Mulligan’s Pointe provided beverages throughout the day and put out a lunch spread.
Anyone interested in the 2025 tournament or who wants to learn how to play bocce should contact Tournament Director Linda Tobin through the Delaware Senior Olympics office.
