Why travel when you live at the beach?

While there has been a lot of travel associated with travel baseball, the Delaware Stallions 10U team, made up of players from across Sussex County, flips the script to gets teams to travel to them for most of the season.

An overall record of 45-10-1 led to six championship titles and five runner-up finishes during a season that started in September and wrapped up in the middle of July.

“These boys worked hard from Day 1,” said coach Jay Marsh. “They showed up ready to compete, trusted each other and played with heart every single game.”

The Stallions attribute their success to the sense of community they felt in bringing together various communities and families throughout Sussex County.

Easton Marsh, Brian Seymour, Emerson Lutz, Grady Dickerson, Coby Mayer, Bryce Cole, Landon Shane, LJ Ksiazek, Grayson Clark and Ryder Bradshaw make up the squad, and while it may seem small, having 11 players allows for each of them to have more innings and at-bats.

Aaron Mushrush joined the sports team in Summer 2023 to help cover the emerging youth athletics scene in the Cape Region. After lettering in soccer and lacrosse at Sussex Tech, he played lacrosse at Division III Eastern University in St. David's, PA. Aaron coached lacrosse at Sussex Tech in 2009 and 2011. Post-collegiately, Mush played in the Eastern Shore Summer Lacrosse League for Blue Bird Tavern and Saltwater Lacrosse. He competed in several tournaments for the Shamrocks Lacrosse Club, which blossomed into the Maryland Lacrosse League (MDLL). Aaron interned at the Coastal Point before becoming assistant director at WMDT-TV 47 ABC in 2017 and eventually assignment editor in 2018.
