November 25, 2025

The Fourth Annual Delaware Stroke Summit will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, at the Hyatt Place, 1301 Coastal Highway, Dewey Beach. Registration is required. To sign up, community members should go to tinyurl.com/zhv37jua. Healthcare professionals may register at msdcme.rievent.com/a/FWYPJB.

Hosted by Dr. David A. Tam, Beebe Healthcare president and CEO, and E. Thomas Harvey III, American Heart Association Delaware board of directors leadership chair, the summit will again feature a series of expert presenters.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a series of educational sessions designed to educate attendees about the risk factors associated with stroke, its warning signs and symptoms, and the steps that can be taken to prevent a stroke.

Presentations will also offer updates on research initiatives that are currently underway, with a vision to continuously advance and improve stroke care and clinical outcomes. Also, participants are encouraged to enjoy breakfast and take advantage of free health screenings offered by Beebe’s Community Outreach Team in the morning prior to the start of opening remarks.

Keynote speakers will be Mouhanad Freih, MD, a board-certified interventional cardiologist who serves as physician leader of the Cardiovascular Institute at Beebe, and Franziska Herpich, MD, a neurologist at ChristianaCare, who will share her personal story of survivorship.

Beebe and the American Heart Association are united in their goal to combat heart disease, a top cause of death in the country and the state of Delaware.
