Delmarva Christian High School held a letter of intent signing and all-sports ceremony May 22 in Georgetown. Tessa Kwiatkowski signed to play volleyball at Lancaster Bible College in Pennsylvania. Lewis Burris signed to play soccer at Rome City Institute in Rome, Italy. Kaylan Yoder signed to play softball at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. Carter Breasure signed to play baseball at York College of Pennsylvania. Keelie Conaway signed to swim at Messiah University in Mechanicsburg, Pa. Ainsley Bell signed to play basketball at Messiah University.
Chosen as 2022-23 Male Athlete of the Year was Kasey Bell, who was baseball MVP and a three-sport athlete. Kaylan Yoder was chosen as 2022-23 Female Athlete of the Year, and was also selected as softball MVP and earned a letter in volleyball.
Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
