Dewey Beach Lions present 300 eyeglasses pairs to sight team

October 30, 2022

Dewey Beach Lions Club members are proud to have made a contribution of 300 pairs of eyeglasses to the Delaware Lions Sight Team.

The donation was accepted by Milford Lions Club member Clyde Bragg, who addressed the Dewey Beach Lions membership Oct. 20 at the Dewey Beach Lions Clubhouse. Also in attendance as a guest was Milford Lions Club member Jean Bielefedt.

Bragg made a very informative and compassionate presentation on the importance of the Lions Sight Program, presenting many examples of how the program works and how it has helped many people in need, especially children, not only in Delaware but throughout the world.

The Dewey Beach Lions Club continues to provide support for local families in need by constructing wheelchair ramps, and providing loans of wheelchairs, eyeglasses, hearing aids and other equipment. To make a request, go to dblions.org.

The Dewey Beach Lions Club Foundation will host Breakfast With Santa from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Dewey Beach Lions Clubhouse, 115 McKinley Ave., Dewey Beach. Adult tickets are $8, and one child aged 9 and younger will be admitted free with a paying adult. Tickets are $4 for children ages 10 and older. Attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped educational or interactive toy for ages 8-12, to benefit local Toys for Tots.
