Dewey Beer Co. to host pet adoption event March 20
Local Sussex County brewery Dewey Beer Co., in partnership with Humane Animal Partners, will host Dewey Gives 20, a pet adoption event, from 12 to 9 p.m., Monday, March 20, at 2100 Coastal Highway, Dewey Beach.
This community event will help homeless pets find their forever families by uniting beer lovers with adoptable dogs, and raise funds for HAP’s shelter operations.
In a family-friendly atmosphere, beer and animal lovers can mingle, meet adoptable dogs, enjoy great drinks and food, and win special raffle baskets and giveaways, with 20% of taproom sales going to support HAP animals in need.
Dewey Beer Co., a First State favorite brewery with locations in Dewey Beach and Harbeson, began partnering last summer with Humane Animal Partners for an adoption event series at the Harbeson location. Members of the public had the chance to meet and fall in love with adoptable dogs and support HAP’s services including vaccination clinics and free pet food pantries. Dewey Beer Co. also raised an additional $8,908 for HAP in a dedicated effort in early 2022.
Humane Animal Partners’ Rehoboth Beach adoption center, located in the Midway Shopping Center at 18675 Coastal Highway, allows individuals and families to adopt cats and dogs in need of loving homes. Providing veterinary exams, age-appropriate vaccinations and spay/neuter services, HAP prepares animals for adoption at its Wilmington and Stanton/Christiana animal care centers and then transports them to Rehoboth. Additional programs and services available include low-cost vaccination clinics, dog license sales, training resources and more.
Dewey Beer Co. and Humane Animal Partners plan to host more dog-friendly events during the summer months at the brewery’s Harbeson and Dewey Beach locations.
