After a year-long hiatus due to COVID-19, the Dewey Business Partnership has bounced back with a full slate of events set to kick off Saturday, April 3, with the Dewey Egg Scoop.

All events will be held outside and will follow current COVID restrictions, DBP Executive Director Kelly Ranieri said. The partnership is excited to once again offer its signature events, Ranieri said, including a new one sure to please dog lovers and deal-hunters.

Bring a basket to this year’s Egg Scoop at its new location on the bayside beach at Van Dyke Avenue adjacent to Hyatt Place Dewey Beach, where the Easter Bunny himself is set to make a special appearance. Free festivities begin at 10:45 a.m., and free parking will be available. Masks are required.

In addition to egg hunts for children of all age levels, an adult egg hunt will award a 50/50 cash prize, and a new puppy promenade showcasing dogs dressed in their Easter finery will close the event.

Hyatt Place Dewey Beach donated all of the eggs for the hunt, Ranieri said, and Woody’s Dewey Beach owner Jimmy O’Conor donated candy for the smallest egg hunters.

DBP’s newest event, Dogs, Designers and Deals, is a natural fit for the canine-friendly town, Ranieri said. Set to take place on the Dewey Beach Baywalk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 17, the event will offer dog adoption opportunities and resale of upscale clothing and accessories.

Masks are required, free parking will be available and there is a $5 admission fee for the resale event, Ranieri said. To reserve a resale space at $40 for two tables, email Pat Wright at patwright01@comcast.net to apply.

Dewey Arts & Fun Festival will return from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, May 8, on Dagsworthy Avenue bayside, where more than 60 artist vendors will sell their wares, a perfect Mother’s Day shopping opportunity, Ranieri said. Attendees at this free event can enjoy live music, food trucks, a student art gallery and free parking.
