In the form of a bright pink $63,000 check, proceeds from the 6th annual Dewey Goes Pink 5K, 1.5 Mile Walk and Pink Party were given to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition Nov. 18.
The fundraiser, held Oct. 8 at the Starboard, drew 2,500 participants and is quickly becoming one of Delaware’s most well-attended races of the year. Including this year, the total contribution to the coalition is nearly $300,000.
Proceeds from the event benefit DBCC’s programs, which include increasing breast cancer awareness, promoting early detection, providing access to mammograms, and supporting women and men who are newly diagnosed or facing recurrence of breast cancer.
