A 24-year-old Milford man is facing a felony charge after police found a loaded handgun in his car July 31 in Dewey Beach.
Officers pulled over Dontwain Cornish about 1:30 a.m. for a routine traffic stop. Police say marijuana was seen in plain view and Cornish admitted to having a concealed firearm in the car. Officers recovered a fully loaded SAR 9 mm handgun and another fully loaded magazine.
Cornish was placed into custody and charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 3 in Georgetown. He was released on his own recognizance. Cornish was also cited for traffic charges related to the incident.
