DMV set to increase fees Oct. 1
The Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles is set to increase in fees for multiple services and transactions in October.
Effective Oct. 1, the document fee charged when titling a vehicle in Delaware will increase from 4.25% to 5.25%.
Other changes effective Oct. 1 include:
• A dealership license renewal fee - $50.
• A dealership application fee for new dealers - $100.
• Specialty license plate creation fee for organizations interested in a new background or organizational license plate - $200.
The below fees will also increase as of Oct. 10:
• Driver license (new, permit and renewal) - $50.
• Commercial driver license (permit) - $10.
• Commercial driver license (new and renewal) - $55.
• Commercial driver license endorsement - $10.
• Commercial driver license restriction - $10.
• Taxicab endorsement (new and renewal) - $10.
• Driver license/ID card name change - $10.
• Identification card (duplicate) - $10.
• “Y” restriction - $10.
• Non-CDL A or B (renewal) - $50.
The fee increase is assessed in accordance with House Bill 164 and will contribute to the cost of road maintenance and improvements throughout Delaware.
