Dogfish Head to release Bourbon Barrel-Aged Fruit-Full Fort in 750ml bottles July 28

July 21, 2018

Just in time to make summertime a little sweeter, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is releasing Bourbon Barrel-Aged Fruit-Full Fort in 750ml bottles at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 28, at the Milton brewery.

Clocking in at 17 percent ABV, this Belgian Ale is a twist on the beloved Fort and brewed with four types of berries – raspberry, blackberry, boysenberry and elderberry. In this new version, brewers punched up the malt bill with Munich malt to provide a firm backbone and add balance to the tart flavor of the berry blend. Continually seeking to push the boundaries of creativity and innovation in the brewhouse, brewers set out to add even more complexity to the recently released Fruit-Full Fort – the 2018 Fort mashup - and aged it for four months in fresh bourbon barrels, resulting in a rich, full-bodied, berry-forward ale with sweet, warm notes of tawny port, vanilla, coconut and toasted oak. With only 450 bottles of the special, barrel-aged experimentation available, Bourbon Barrel-Aged Fruit-Full Fort is priced at $30/750ml bottle and will be available while supplies last.
