Donate Delaware seeks contributions of funds and PPEs

January 23, 2022

In recent weeks, Donate Delaware has received an increasing number of PPE requests from organizations throughout Delaware.

These organizations work with the most vulnerable in the community including children, the elderly, the disabled and low-income citizens who have tested positive for the Omicron variant. It is also receiving additional requests from schools whose supply of masks and sanitizer are very low.

In early January, Donate Delaware delivered over 25,000 disposable adult masks, 500 N95 masks, 10,000 children’s masks, 60 face shields, 15 packs of gloves, 200 containers of disinfectant wipes, 500 bottles of hand sanitizer, 100 rolls of toilet paper and 100 isolation gowns.

First State Community Action, United Way of Delaware and several school districts are a few of the many organizations that have recently received donations from Donate Delaware.

During this COVID Omicron surge, Donate Delaware's supply of PPEs is declining. The nonprofit is in need of additional funding and PPE donations to continue meeting the needs of the community statewide. Corporate partners including Highmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield and several local pharmaceutical companies have been extremely generous throughout this pandemic, as have organizations such as the United Way, Food Bank of Delaware, and the Delaware Division of Social Services. At a later date, Donate Delaware plans to recognize all its  corporate and community partners, including elected officials who are part of the team.

A 501c3 nonprofit, Donate Delaware can provide receipts for tax purposes if the donation falls within IRS guidelines.
