Driving restrictions lifted in Sussex
Driving restrictions were lifted at 10 a.m., Jan. 26, for Sussex County following the recent ice and snowstorm.
In Kent and New Castle counties, the restrictions were downgraded to Level 1.
Please continue to use caution, limit travel if possible and follow guidance from state and local officials.
Stay safe, Delaware, said Gov. Matt Meyer in a Facebook post.
Delaware Emergency Management Agency officials urged all residents to use good judgement and extreme caution when travel is unavoidable. The Delaware Department of Transportation continues working to clear the roads, but black ice is a concern. Temperatures are expected to remain below freezing all week and, in some cases, will drop to single digits overnight to prolong dangerous travel conditions. Follow DelDOT’s traffic
advisory radio stations, WTMC, for streaming updates from WTMC Radio 1380AM and 98.5 FM. Listen to WTMC through the DelDOT app which provides real-time updates on roadway and transit conditions.
